Meet Basil Salvaris, the Head of Kendro Group
Graduated with a Bachelor of Business Property Valuations, Bachelor of Applied Science in Construction Management and Sub agency in Real Estate, he commenced his career at The Mirvac Group. Undertaking a New Business and Development Management role, he worked alongside and was mentored by some of Melbourne’s most proven and successful developers. Basil was fortunate enough to work in the early Mirvac team for several years and developed a solid foundation in the property development industry. Basil has worked on the acquisition and development management of the following projects for Mirvac:
- The Docklands Redevelopment
- The Melbourian
- Quay West Hotel
- SY21 South Yarra
- Beacon Cove
Industry Experience
From Mirvac, Basil shifted his focus to construction, working with construction companies as Abigroup Contractors and Baulderstone Hornibrook, (BHPL). Basil spent the majority of his working career with BHPL, being trained in commercial and high-rise residential construction, as well as being involved in the medical space. At BHPL Basil was again trained by the market leaders of the time and was fortunate enough to work on projects which have helped reshape Melbourne’s landscape, which include:
- Royal Women’s Hospital
- Bio 21 – Research Medial Facility
- Holden Headquarters
- The Alfred Hospital
- Austin Mercy Hospital Re-development
- Digital Harbour
- Watergate Apartments
- Century Tower
- Liberty Tower
Basil’s construction journey includes the following roles:

As part of Basil’s development experience, he worked in the Project and Development Management space on Fulton Lane (778 Apartments) and Parque Apartments (321 Apartments) for The Setia Group. The experience gained by Basil on these projects, enabled him to manage projects from home extensions to high rise building.
As part of the early works management of these projects, Basil worked with the following consultants in order to achieve his clients goals:
- Fender Katsalidis
- CARR Design
- Urbis Planning
- WT partnership
In 2011 Basil co-founded a boutique Construction Company known as DCS Built. The business was based around delivering the highest’s quality of product irrespective of its location and end user. DCS Built has become synonymous with quality buildings and its entire workbook is taken up by repeat customers, which illustrates the success of the end product.

Kendro was founded to fill a gap in the market. A Project and Development business that could effectively manage the builder and the development process.
